That you are a sinner. “For all (humans) have sinned, and come short of the glory of God…[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.

To admit refers to the acknowledgement of your sin or to accept (say)  your wrongdoing against God and the ability to ask God for forgiveness by changing your ways. ‘We have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws.’ Daniel 9:5.

In order for the process of forgiveness to commence, you must profess or confess your sins to God(Psalm 32:5). This does not mean that God does not know your sin, but you have to accept what you did as being against God’s law and declare you need Him to cleanse you and help you change from such an act. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Do not hide your sin, “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. (Proverbs 28:13) . When we share our encounter with other believers, it helps us to be accountable to someone who we can see, it will help us to stay away from distraction.   The benefit of confessing your sins is the ability to be able to commune with God and have answer to your prayer.  ‘Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. ‘The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:16 NIV).
